What AnswerTrace measures
AnswerTrace asks the four largest answer engines the same questions your buyers ask, then tracks whether your brand shows up, where it ranks, and how it is described.
The four engines
| Engine | What we capture |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT | The full answer text, brand mentions, citation list |
| Google AI Overviews (AIO) | The Overview text on the search results page, plus the cited sources |
| Claude | The full answer text, brand mentions, any citation block |
| Perplexity | The summary, the source list, the related questions |
Free plans see ChatGPT only. Starter adds AI Overviews. Growth adds Claude. Pro adds Perplexity. Pro is the only plan that gets all four.
What we ask
Every brand gets a question set, also called a prompt pack. The default pack covers the things buyers actually search for:
- Direct brand questions (“Is Razorpay good for SMBs?”)
- Category discovery (“Best UPI app for freelancers in India”)
- Competitor comparisons (“Razorpay vs Cashfree”)
- Use case fit (“Payment gateway for D2C brands under one crore GMV”)
- Trust and credibility (“Is Razorpay legit?”)
- Pricing and commercial (“Razorpay pricing tiers”)
- Regional (“Best payment gateway for Tamil Nadu small businesses”)
You can add custom prompts from the rescan editor. Free is capped at 10 prompts. Starter is 25. Growth is 100. Pro is 200.

What this means for you
You see the same questions, the same answers, and the same engines every week. If your visibility goes up, the score goes up. If a competitor pushes you out of the top three, you see it in the What improved or dropped feed the next morning.
