Attribution
The closed-loop measure that ties an AI mention to a website visit. Committed for Pro on the pricing card. Not yet shipped, currently in open roadmap.
What it answers
AI visibility score tells you AI knows about you. Attribution tells you the knowledge is worth something. Specifically, it answers:
- When AI engines cited us on a query last week, how many of those readers clicked through to our site?
- Which prompts drove the most traffic?
- Which engine drove the most traffic per mention?
- Is the score lift translating into pipeline?
How it will work
The design is to correlate three signals:
- AI engine citations, from your scan
- Site referrer data, from a script tag we’ll provide or a Google Search Console connection
- Engine-specific traffic patterns, since each engine sends slightly different referrer signatures
For each AI mention, the section will surface a per-prompt and per-engine traffic estimate.
The script tag, the GSC connection, and the per-engine signature logic are all design intent for the not-yet-shipped surface. Nothing in this list ships today.
Current status
The Pro entitlement is wired up (the attribution capability flag is true on Pro, Agency Pro, and Enterprise), but the section body in the report still renders as a “soon” placeholder. There’s no action you need to take on your end; Pro customers will see Attribution land in the report when the surface ships.
What this means for you
Attribution is the metric you take to the board. Score and rank are leading indicators. This is the closed loop from AI mention to revenue.
